ZION E-NEWS 6-12-25

AS WE GATHER in person for Worship each Sunday at 9:30am the service can also be viewed on our website at zionreformed.online.church and streaming on our YouTube channel.

PRAYER REQUEST: Continue to pray for those in our congregation who deal with ongoing health issues.

ZION WOMEN: We would like your input on what you are looking for in women’s ministry at Zion. Please complete a short survey by clicking here.

ZION KIDS FAMILIES: You are invited to a pool party potluck at the home of Haley Stone on Sunday, June 22 after church. Please bring a dish to share. Paper products will be provided.

SUMMERTIME is a great time to volunteer for one Sunday to help either Greet, Usher, help with Child check-in, or teach or help in Zion Kids – it’s also a time when people may visit our church, so these volunteers are an important part of making a visitor feel welcome!  If you are available for one of these areas, for even just one Sunday, there is a sign-up sheet by the office.  If you have questions, please reach out to Angie.

OUR NEW electronic access control system is still in the process of being installed. During this transition, electronic access to the building will be temporarily unavailable. If you need access to the building during office hours, please call the church office when you arrive at door A so we can let you in.

ZION CHURCH FAMILY, thank you for all the prayers cards and texts during my hospital stay and recovery.  What a blessing to be a part of such a loving, caring community.  Blessings, Tim Mekkes

WITH A sincere heart of gratitude I want to thank our dear Zion community for all the expressions of love, care and concern during my recent 10-day stay in the hospital and my recent hospital admittance again this week. Sue and I can’t thank you enough for your prayers for healing, cards and texts sent, meals and thoughtful words of encouragement.  Special thanks to Pastor Marcia for her visits and support.  Even during some of the hardest experiences in the hospital, we were comforted by your prayers and God’s presence.  While there remains more questions than answers regarding my condition, we’re trusting that God will provide wisdom and healing in His time.  We remain thankful for His faithfulness.  Mark & Sue Gazan

CITY CHAPEL, a church plant that Zion helped start, is warmly inviting us to celebrate with them as they mark the beginning of a new season: they are becoming organized as their own RCA church!! This “Organization Sunday” will take place on June 22, 2025, at 10:15 AM, when they will install elders and deacons, and take this next step as a church family. Please continue to pray for this young congregation and consider supporting them with your presence on this exciting Sunday! City Chapel meets at “The Vault,” located at 121 Sheldon Ave SE, across from LaGrave Avenue CRC.

CAMP ZION: Thank you so much for all of the shoe boxes that have been donated. We have more than enough for our craft project. New supplies and snack items have been added to the CZ Amazon Wish List. Please click here to check it out.

THIS SUMMER we are collaborating with five other Grandville churches to provide a weekly Art in the Park opportunity for families at Wedgwood Park!  (Scan the QR code to discover more about each church participating.) Zion is scheduled to provide the craft and snack on June 18th and July 16th. We need a few volunteers to help prior to these dates to prepare the crafts – this can be done at church or take the supplies home and work on at home! We also need a few volunteers on both those dates to help supervise the crafts and hand out snacks! If you are able to volunteer for either of these, please let Angie know! All of our families are invited to this every week, some come when you can any time between 10 am – 12 pm and invite your friends and neighbors to join!
