Pathways is Zion Reformed Church’s new young adult ministry!
Our mission is to disciple post-high school, college, and post-college young adults by creating a space for authentic community, faithful study of God’s Word, thoughtful engagement with Scripture, and practical application of the Christian life in today’s culture.
Young adulthood is a formative season!
It’s marked by:
Transition
Independence
Significant life decisions
During this stage, faith must move from something inherited to something owned.
Maturity
Resilience
Biblically grounded faith that engages both heart and mind
Scripture calls believers to maturity (Eph. 4:14-15), to renewed minds (Rom. 12:2), and to have readiness to give an answer for the hope within us (1 Pet. 3:15).
Pathways seeks to develop these qualities through study, discussion, and community. To achieve this goal, we have Pathways Bible Study, Pathways Table Talk, and Pathways Gatherings.
These evenings are for faithful study of Scripture, careful discussion and interpretation, and practical application.
The goal is not to provide information but to foster transformation, helping young adults grow in biblical literacy, theological depth, and obedience to Christ.
These evenings model thoughtful Christian dialogue in public spaces and encourage young adults to articulate and defend their beliefs with humility and clarity.
Topics may include:
Cultural Issues
Apologetics
Ethical Questions
Current Events
Practical Theology
The idea isn’t to come up with the “correct” answer all the time, but to engage in discussion and conversation.
Discipleship is not formed through teaching alone, but through shared life.
These gatherings may include:
Casual hangouts
Meals
Local service projects
Game nights
Watching movies
Other community-building events
Anyone interested in that gathering’s plan is welcome to join, but shouldn’t feel pressured to do so if they’re not.
These moments strengthen relationship, encourage accountability, and foster belonging within the body of Christ.
