What do I do if my child is loud or restless in the service?

Children are welcome here! We have a nursery for ages 0-3 and ‘Zion Kids’ Sunday School during the service for ages 4-5th grade (kids in this age group begin in the service and are invited to Zion Kids after the announcements). If you and/or your child are more comfortable with them staying in the service, that is perfectly fine and normal in our church! There are worship-bags available for them to use during the service and age-appropriate bulletins for note taking during the sermon.

What should I wear?

Many dress up. Many are casual. All are welcome.

What’s the worship style?

We encourage people to use their gifts in worship and in leadership. We rotate who leads each song because we believe in letting people learn and grow in their God-given gifts.

Will I be singled out as a visitor?

We value your comfort! We won’t ask you to independently stand or single you out. We have a time of ‘greeting one another’ as a congregation where you can shake hands and introduce yourself to others at Zion. You are also invited to fill out a connection card (found inside your bulletin) and place it in the offering plate during the offering.

Is the church accessible?

We want to be accessible for you! We have a ramp, an elevator, t-coil (for hearing aids), and gluten free bread for communion. See our Accessibility page for more details.

What happens during the service?

In a typical service, you will come in and sit down (children are invited to grab a worship bag!) – we have ushers to help you find a place. We have tables as well as rows of chairs. Sunday Services open at 9:30 with a song of worship followed by a welcome and a time to greet the people around you. We then sing and hear announcements. After, children are invited to Zion Kids, meeting teachers in the back of the sanctuary, and we pray as a congregation. Next we learn from a sermon, sing a closing song, and hear a blessing.

Do I need to bring anything?

Simply come. We have NIV Bibles in the back of the sanctuary (the scripture will also be on the screen), pens for taking notes, coffee before the service and a treat after the service, and a drinking fountain.
